Some freaking nights!
Every time I think about my life - which is constantly.... this song comes to mind and it is so spot on.
I spend the majority of my time thinking. All I ever do is think, My mind is constantly running a million kilometres an hour, but in true kkspassion fashion (rhyme intended) I don't care!
I love my mindset and I am constantly telling myself to never let anyone change my mind. I know that I always ramble on about these things, but our minds are powerful things. We are all unique and what we don't say are probably the best parts of us.
Lately I have been so confused on where my future stands, but isn't that the point? Everyone says that we should live in the present, but I think its okay to embrace the past, present and future. No one should tell you how to live your life, but isn't that also what we constantly do to each other?
I am not afraid to seek help and lately I have done just that. I have, however, found that these sources just make things worse! I am sick of people telling me what I should be doing, how I should be doing it and then asking me why I am doing it!!
Some nights I just don't know myself! As I have said before - it's all in the journey, who cares where the destination is?

As scientists we don't observe much.
All I'm saying is that a lot of people interested in science are different from the rest. I can't say - as I grow older - where I stand on the scientific mind, but up until today, I feel that it is a lost profession. Most, certainly not all, scientists are so lost and unobservant, but the people that I have dealt with before, honestly don't seem like they are really living to me.
Look, I am not going to get into the right and left brain debate - because personally I don't believe it, a blog for another time perhaps... - but the real analytical thinkers, the science people, Sheldon Cooper, you guys just don't seem to interpret, well... life!

Pet profile: Chloe!
Chloe must be about 10 - 12 years now which is a damn good age for a small terrier like this beautiful girl. Chloe is a Jack Russell Terrier x Fox Terrier and she was the first puppy I ever picked out. Dad took my brother and I to buy her when we were probably in our mid teens (I'm 21 and my brother is 18) and we each picked a puppy. My brother picked the first little girl that crawled up to him, but it took me ages to decide!
Grief never escapes you, but that's okay
My Aunt recently passed away and every-time someone in my life passes, I think of everyone else who has left me behind, and that makes me so much sadder. Don't get me wrong, I get that people die and we have to move on, but a part of me does feel empty.
My Nana also passed away earlier this year and as it was her sister who just passed recently, I have been in absolute agony over the fact that I didn't spend enough time with them, its not quite regret, in my books, I am just straining myself trying to make everyone proud and when someone disappears from my life, I tend to infuse in the energy I had around them and my emotions sky-rocket. In a way, these emotions make me strive and although it may look like I am destroying myself, with tears, sleepless nights, anger, getting lost and overdoing things, I know that soon, my mind will switch, and pull me back up.
If you have been reading my blogs for a while now, you will probably know of one of my first encounters with grief - Adam Ruble. To recap, here is the post that I blogged about him.

We can learn a lot from children.
Day by day I see us all wander aimlessly through life. It is so so easy to get wrapped up in it and forget about the important things - yes this is said and quoted on Facebook so much that it is basically a cliché, but if you really think about it, you can make everyday special.
Children do.

Why the hell would you diet?
I eat - that is my diet, only I eat tremendously slow. Unbelievably so. Food is there to eat, so I believe that we should eat it. Now don't get me wrong, I still eat within reason because I just feel sick if I eat too much junk, but I don't eat organic, vegan or vegetarian either. I just eat what I want - if I can afford it.
We are what we eat. I can't stand people who say they have the same opinion as me, but eat nothing but junk. We still have to eat healthy within reason. We were put on this planet to eat what is around us, not what comes in a bag, although it is usually yummy!

Adamant = Ignorance
Pet Peeve alert!
Atheists are the last people to be open minded and scientists come quite close where fiction is concerned. Personal trainers on the other hand make everyone else feel inadequate. Personally I believe each to their own and if you are adament about something, chances are you are just stubborn or ignorant.
To make this post realistic, I myself am adamant about some things (as above) but I still try, try so hard to be open minded. Go ahead and tell me your view, maybe I'll respect it and move on or maybe you will convince me that ignorance is bliss....

Why do we need to push ourselves until we burst?
But my problem with the gym is that its kind of a cult. Telling us we aren't beautiful unless we are our fittest selves. Well in a sense this is true, but it does send the wrong message. Although where I'm concerned I do prefer fit people to be with so that they can keep up with me!
On another note, some phrases that I can't stand where fitness is concerned are as follows:
Feel the burn? - Um... we don't touch fire for a reason.
Train through the pain??
Attitude is a little thing between fitness success and fitness failure.... I have a strong attitude towards fitness and I'm fit????
We don't need to push ourselves to , well isn't the goal to impress others? Doing a little exercise feels good, but ultimately we do go to gyms to make others see us better.... think about that.
Don't get me started on dieting or personal trainers,

Don't tell me how to write!
I am a writer (duh) and there is no rule on how one writes in the personal writing world. If you run, you are a runner, if you sleep you are a friggen sleeper, gees. I should be able to write how I want, I don't care about the grammar, I care about the content and it just irks me when people get all caught up on presentation and professionalism, rather than the actual work that's been put into a piece.
I'm sure it has been proven that some of the smartest people in the world can't spell! I know that some PHD students can't. Look, all I am saying is - appreciate the passion! We should focus on who an individual is and how much effort they put in, (Where their work is concerned...) rather than the nitty gritty - (I'm going to write it) - SHIT!
The main irk about the whole issue, to me, is that I never said I wouldn't go back and fix the nitty, gritty, shitty - quit focusing on that and read what was meant to be read. We don't criticise strokes on a painting before the painter has finished!
From someone who hasn't published my stories yet, I'd like to say, give me a chance to perfect them - to my needs - before you have a crack. When I'm published - then by all means, shoot!

Some pet peeves of mine...
Now I don't always follow etiquette. It is actually another one of my pet peeves. I mean why should people have to apply to certain rules and have certain manners. Yes, please and thank you is good, but crossing your legs a certain way and using the right fork for a salad is just... wrong. If you know me, you know that there are some things I can't do due to a physical disability, however general (not even strict) etiquette rules prevent me from being a proper young lady. Things like using a straw in certain cups or drinks - um I have no choice in that sometimes and don't get me started on the proper way to eat, carrying food and drink, sipping, wine tasting, etc.
All I am saying is that although society could do with a few rules, it could also benefit from restricting a few rules, that when put down to it, discriminate some people.
Rant over,

Can you really say that your life is hard?
But its not about the 'who.' We shouldn't point them out because we don't know how bad anyone's life really is. Even if you dug through a persons every aspect - you still wouldn't know what they were thinking, would you?
Can you really, honestly, truthfully say that your own life is hard compared to others? Don't compare yourself to others. I know that this is easier said than done, but life really isn't that hard if you don't believe it is. Instead of comparing yourself to others, look up to others and don't be jealous.

Complicated family stuffs
Breaking up is a part of life and I don't know many family's today that don't have some members that have split. It is just much accepted these days. One side of my family is old fashioned and the other is very modern and its strange when we come together because my parents broke up, long ago. I sure am the only one who sees the subtle pang of anger between my parents when they come together. I was oddly always okay with my parents divorce. It was the remarrying for my mother that bothered me for a while because I then became a part of another family - which these days does not feel extended at all. Eventually these things feel normal. But when certain people in my family come together, I can't help but to feel awkward. It must be that I am sensitive to peoples emotions, but I am bombarded with guilt and anger when I don't have to feel this way.
I still love my family though,

The real you.
Everyday, people do amazing things and beat the odds. These are the people that deserve to be seen and heard on television.
I also understand that 'normal' people want to be intersting and have their '15 minutes of fame' and thats fine. I'm just repeating the cliche phrase: 'Be yourself!' I really don't think that a lot of reality television stars act like themselves, but I do understand the adrenalin, as you might say, that comes from making your mark. I can imagine that anyone would want to be heard for one reason or another, but I'm just saying that I favour those who stay true and show off for something I'd consider worthwhile. Saying that though, by worthwhile I mean anything that represeant who you are, but also paying respect to others and considering others feelings.
Here are a few stories from news shows, so that you can see what I mean:

I hope that each and every one of you out there appreciates just how lucky you are, remember to be yourself, but give a thought to those who struggle with that everyday,

Friends
| Non generic friends |
Throughout my life I haven't known too many people like this and I have just enjoyed being alone and discovering myself through my writing. To this day I still do that and will continue to do so, but now I know that there are more 'true friends' out there waiting for me, rather than generic ones. The generic ones have their own loves and lives to worry about. I care about my friends, but I hate to admit that they aren't everything to me either.
Those few 'true friends' are worth holding onto and giving them my all. Just the little things like being encouraging, really getting to know them, trying something new for/with them and showing all of your kindness and thoughts about them when it comes to their birthdays, Christmas and moments in their life that are important to them - regardless on whether or not its important to me.
I believe I have made a few true friends lately, thank you universe!

Love your children.
One thing that bugs me with a lot of parents is that they deprive their children. Trust me on this, this has nothing to do with money... There are plenty of things that you can do with a child to make these prime years worthwhile - spending time with them is a start.
The amount of times that I have heard parents complain about how dirty or energetic their child is, I roll my eyes. Hey don't get me wrong. I know those things can be frustrating sometimes, but I often look at kids or even animals and think, wow, you're not at this age long enough. I don't get to appreciate you enough.

Its all okay.
Then again it could continue to be going at the perfect pace for the rest of your life!
Now I don't like to talk in cliché, technological terms, (roller coasters...) so I always imagine myself in nature. Walking along a beach, a creek, the desert - whichever I feel like witnessing at a certain point in my life helps me picture the journey, but life is forever a journey.
I have even made my own meditations to pick myself up, using nature as guidance. I have a morning, night and nervous meditation media - with myself speaking too!
To be perfectly honest I have just had a bit of a down time in my life and I am struggling to pick myself back up. If I stop and think about it, it makes it worse, so I just keep going. Those of you who know me, will understand my physical capabilities and I have my limits, as does everyone. But if I keep telling myself that its all okay - it will be.
Crying helps too,
It's all okay,

Knowing yourself
Now that I am going to uni, (I'm doing zoology by the way...) I have to be someone else, someone I wouldn't normally want to be - a science-minded logical thinker. But to be a wise person, a good writer, live, you have to do the things that scare you. And becoming someone else does that for me.
I always knew myself, I knew what I wanted, I just didn't know how to get there. I was often told that I couldn't do the greatest things I wanted to do - and those of you who know me will know why... - but I figured out that I can do whatever the b****y H**l I want!
I know myself even better now and I know that those who care about me and those that are looking down on me, would be proud.
Knowing yourself is a completely selfish act, but that's okay.

Uninspiring people.
*Bindi Irwin
So as I have said in previous posts, I don't like to hate on people, but there will always be those, that bug me something shocking and these two ladies are prime examples. I think that I have mentioned this on facebook, but the reason why I am not so keen on these people, I think, is because they try too hard to be someone they just aren't - such as their fathers. There is also much more about uninspiring people that just gets to me.
I also believe that they are very smart and use this to their advantage - they are in no way ignorant or stupid. These girls have common sense and perhaps its their 'I don't give a s**t' (about being in the media,) attitude that irks me as well.
My main problem with Miley is that I always believed she thought that she was better than everyone, including her co-stars, siblings and general fans.
My main problem with Bindi is that she is a bit of a 'know it all.' The thing about working with animals is that you don't have to dumb the facts about them down to get people to understand. I just think that she is always over-the-top about protecting animals. It should be about the passion - not the need to show off.
How can one be inspiring if one copies another?
Now, many people disagreed with me on this 'facebook post' so I am writing here to make myself heard and not piss people and their news feeds off. Even as these two ladies have grown, I have always been suspicious of them and I get this with a lot of people on the first impression. I hate to pick on these two people, but every time I see them in the media I have to switch off.
I can't say with absolute knowing what it is about some people that makes my blood boil, but it is something I dislike about myself. There are a lot of uninspiring people out there for me and some of them, I am quite close to, but I have learnt to shut my mouth and let them be, that and I am very feelings orientated - I wouldn't hurt anyone deliberately - except perhaps in this post because these people are famous and I will most likely never see them face to face... hopefully..
But these things have just got to be said sometimes,
A little ashamed,

Selflessness - the lonely kind
Everyone has their own problems and I completely understand that, but whatever happened to a little selflessness? No matter how busy I am, or how upset or angry I am, I would still go out of my way, shove my emotions aside to help someone or do something for someone else. In fact it makes me feel better, and I pride myself on that, but I just don't get why no one else can understand that?

Listen up!
As I have been at Uni, I really don't have a lot of downtime with nature to write about my passions on here, so I am adding some new posts - reviews about books, movies, television shows and books to movies. Most of these reviews will be on media I have already seen or read, or both, because I am very busy, but I do want to continue to express myself and telling you what I think about these media types as I grow - I think - will enlightening not only you, but me. I just want to see how my thought pan out on different topics, so keep reading!
p.s I will still be posting as much as I can of the usual stuff!

Having it easy.
I have a friend who I believe is just like this. This person is always carefree and happy, but on a few occasions has shown nostalgia and hope - feelings this person wouldn't dare to show (for fear of caring I assume) in everyday life.
To many, life isn't serious and to almost the rest, life isn't a game, but we need a happy medium. We need to show our feelings and tell the people we admire, just that. We need to show how hard we try - even if it feels like we aren't succeeding, at least we are learning and isn't that what life's about?

Start a fight!
Now, I know that the number one rule in society is that everyone only cares about themselves. I don't know one truly selfless person (Which is relieving, because if everyone were selfless it'd just be boring...) But my problem here is all about courage, standing up for yourself and maybe even causing a fight to make yourself heard - sometimes its the only way to get people to listen. We may bitch and gossip, but isn't that what the target wants? To be heard? Isn't that what we all want?

Don't advertise it.
Personally I think that it is just about advertising oneself. Showing the world who they are and lets face it - everyone loves showing off themselves - even in the smallest, visual ways.
So as this is a 'can of worms' post, I should spill what annoys me about social media.
Don't advertise it. Don't advertise that you killed a protected species of snake on your property. Don't advertise that you hate blacks. Please, please don't advertise that you stole some money. Just don't advertise anything you wouldn't tell anyone - and I mean anyone, to their face. That means, RSPCA, Barrack Obama and the police. This has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves ever!
I, myself, hate putting anyone down. This is a part of the reason why I am such a quiet soul. I try, (because sometimes I do fail...) to never speak a bad word about any one person. A lot can offend a person these days and social media is really just demeaning people. When people post these things I am talking about, they offend someone and that just causes a debate.
Another thing I hate is competition. In this case, I think that everyone should have their opinion, but when it gets to facebook, it just seems so pointless. Too many chefs spoiling the broth. So I let my pent up anger out on blogger!
KK.
Come one, come all!
Recently I have just matured a little more - yes I know, that statement is worth a thousand jabs of mocking, but its true. And I have finally come to realise that you have to fall prey to other peoples desires - in this case anyway...
If you leave someone out of an event, that could be the thing that everyone ever talks about from an otherwise great show. I guess that allowing people to get along is to give to everyone but yourself in these cases. The trick though, is to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable - change what you want to what others want - you will be respected for that.
KK
I still Believe!
I notice that when people walk out of cinemas in general - the movie they just saw is almost instantly forgotten or perhaps viewed as just a time to relax or treat the kids, but what's next? I've always been one to discuss a movie at length after exiting the cinemas and I think over the years, the people I have gone with have gotten sick of me doing this. I don't know if its the dark room, but the movie just consumes me and my brain races with ideas, motives and inspiration! When I come out of the dark room or even when the lights come on inside the cinema, my mind keeps going as I slowly come back to reality - very slowly.
I really can't speak for anyone else, but it seems to me that others don't do that. Reality strikes them instantly when those lights come on and the credits scroll up the big screen. Suddenly a song on the radio on the way home becomes more important, or what they have to clean or cook when they get home, what the partner or kids are doing, tomorrow's birthday party, shopping list or maybe even the fact that they are going home to an empty house. But the movie slowly becomes a distant illusion. Just like after waking from a dream, if you let it, it just fades away - until you revive it again, but then it may not seem the same - Are we thinking about reality too much? Or do I think about dreams too much? I'm not saying that this happens to everyone, there may be people like me, but I know that some people do. Somtimes I can be consumed by a movie for weeks.

Live life the way you choose.
It sounds pretty straight forward, but live your life the way you want to! More often than not, I have come across people who give up on their dreams, yes, it can feel like time is passing you by and you're getting nowhere, but isn't life about the journey? If you don't make the most of the journey, you're just roaming, not living. (Unless of course you’re happy to roam if that is what you truly believe your full potential to be!)
No matter what it is you want to do in life. There is another way if there is a blockage in the road. You just have to think outside the box sometimes, get inspired and think about what made you want to do the things you do in the first place. Take criticism, but never let people run you down. You’re alive and here for a reason!
But most of all - Be grateful! Every disappointment, every wrong turn, that achievement and good skip down the right path taught you something didn't it? Even if you keep making the same mistakes, accept who you are and you'll never doubt yourself again. Try to realise those mistakes and eventually they will naturally disappear – if you are being true to yourself!
Don’t forget, that when everything is going your way, appreciate it, because you never know what is waiting around the corner – but it could be even better. Still, don’t worry too much and live life freely!
Sometimes we just have to be reminded to be the person we want to be, stopping and reflecting on the good you have done always helps, but even if you've done the bad, have no regrets! You can't - and shouldn't be able to, change the past!

Give us a break!
We all do things we think we don't. Sometimes we slip up, fall, stumble and make mistakes. We are hypocrites, liars, and manipulators - so what! I think that every now and then we need to give ourselves a break. The idea of a perfect person is just stupid!
Many of us have our moments - a slip of the tongue, foot in mouth, but a lot of people or organisations, tend to place unreasonable limits to everyday situations. The most hypocritical part of this is that often, the person or organisation in charge may be privy to making the same, if not similar mistakes that they shun others for.
I think that our society is much too strict. All it would take is to smell the roses and appreciate what we have already got. Placing impossible standards won't help anyone and personally I think that there is absolutely no need for it, but then again, I mean is that only human?
I try to overcome this by ignoring it and being thankful for the times I am treated nicely, with respect, or even just acknowledged. Just try to give yourself a break. If you find yourself making mistakes, feeling down, disappointing others, manipulating others, etc. Just remember the saying that my beautiful mum taught me: ‘Treat others how you’d want to be treated’ regardless of how they treat you!
If you have someone being cruel to you, stay strong, if there is one thing I have learnt from being stood over, it’s to never stand over anyone yourself, just step back and think twice.
xoxo.

An animal felt me up!
It’s amazing that we still need to reach out and tell some of those out there that animals are not like people. Animals don't have, and certainly don't need, morals, rules or ideals. There are very few exceptions to these, for instance when most animals mate, the choosing sex usually goes for the ideal opposite sex, but not always.
The reason I am babbling on about this again, is because I just saw a photo captioned: kangaroo feels up someone, the picture showing a kangaroo paw on a woman's jumper in the breast region. Right now I am pulling the most disgusting face just having to write this, but animals don't 'feel up’ other animals, (and yes, us humans are animals...) Yes, again, when mating, some animals tend to get – ‘for lack of a better term’ - sexist and bash each other around a little, but I think that we need to stop assuming that animals are like us in the mentioned ways.
What animals lack for in morals, they make up for in survival. Sometimes, and I really understand why, animals have to drop what a human would call ethics, to protect themselves. In the animal kingdom, (exceptions include humans.... even though all other animals must surely not be included in this kingdom for self-assured reasons.) the key to survival is always to protect oneself.
So next time a dog sniffs your rear, a cat plays with the bow on your blouse, your pet licks you on the mouth, an animal shoves their head into your crotch, a lizard crawls up your sleeve or a kangaroo reaches for your breasts - there is nothing sexual about it!
Okay, so on the other hand, when a dog/horse/another livestock humps you, isn't it usually encouraged? Now I'd be happy to go into the whole 'animal sex' craze discussion in another post - as unnatural and ridiculous as it is to me, I am happy to discuss and listen to opinions. Frankly, there are an infinite number of irky, exotic, downright weird things, we - humans, do, but this I’m happy to discuss. (And may I make it clear – NOT EXPLORE, TRY OR, UM DO... Just discuss.)
Because yes, I believe there are people out there who have sex with other species of animals, and I can say that’s fine, their own business, but I won’t because I don’t know enough about it and would research (in writing – not physically...) but I have much much more on my mind that I absolutely don’t consider ‘fine.’ But in this blog, I'm talking everyday animals and people here.
Anecdotally - I (though not often because I don't want you to think I'm an eccentric) let my animals crawl all over me, I am talking pythons here (duh!) Because it’s just like a tree or fallen log. If one happens to go up my sleeve, I let it; all it is doing is hiding, relaxing.
I sleep with and cuddle my dogs, I pin them to the ground and kiss their faces.
I snuggle up to my bird and kiss him.
And none of this is sexual at all, it’s nothing funny. People need to stop allowing these dirty thoughts to enter their mind. It goes without saying, but animals are different from us and they don't need to be seen as trying a little something.
Like us, animals are curious and that is usually as far as it goes, keep that in mind.

Quality, not quantity
The way we talk to our animals.
As humans, we do a lot of funny things. We make up extra time for half the year and call it daylight savings, but not all of the states or territories do this. We film ourselves getting hurt and send the video in for thousands of people to see. And we talk to our animals like they care what we are saying! Now I'm not saying that any of these things are related, but we live in a world where we don't think twice about what we are doing and sometimes that’s okay!
I say some stupid things to my animals, I mean 'stupid' in a loving way and sometimes I know they are laughing at me, deep down. But part of the reason why I love animals so much is that they don't judge! In fact, these were the words I said to my mother when I decided I wanted to work with animals when I was very young - 'Animals don't judge.' No matter what we say or the way we talk to our animals, they don't mind!
When I say the way we talk to our animals, I guess I mean that everyone has their way of interacting. Whether we are telling our animals off, teaching them, feeding them, bathing them or just adoring them, we say things that sometimes we wouldn't want another person to hear. We tell our animals our secrets, we gossip, we more often than not - embarrass ourselves regrettably, in front of them and they still don't mind!
So the things I often say to my animals are not so much in the words, but in the affection. I love all of my animals and even those that aren't mine - to death! I love all animals equally and that is something I can absolutely say, because they are easy to love unconditionally for all of the reasons I have mentioned.
For all of my dogs, over all of the years, I have given each one a different ‘pet’ name, (pardon the pun...): My first friend, Jacko, I would affectionately call 'My Mate.' I would often say, 'How are you mate' while patting his side, as we sat and watched each other, squinting at the sun. Another dog, Jacko's son, Angus, I affectionately call 'My buddy,’ or ‘bud.' 'Saying how are you bud?' Meanwhile, he waits for an opportunity to lick my face. Another male dog I have, Max, I usually call 'Cutie' because he's not much of a mate or a buddy, but a pal I can snuggle up to and kiss and cuddle, without too much growling... Another male dog, Patch, we had many names for - including ‘Squiddy,’ ‘Squidga Wod??’ and ‘Batchy batch,’ but he was my ‘fella.’
With the female dogs, they have had more random names, not so much brotherhood terms, but most of them are nicknamed after inanimate objects or just plain old gibberish - mostly just because they react to it. One girl, Abbie, I often call ‘Biscuit’ - (From ‘Ab-isicuit...’) and she really seems to like that. I call Chloe, ‘Clo-boof,’ because dad got tongue tied one day, but I also call her ‘My Girl,’ because she was the first puppy I ever picked out. Jessie was known as ‘Jessie girl’ or ‘Agro.’ Another girl, Minnie, I called ‘Minnie-moo,’ which isn't so original, but I was young... Then I have Jenna, whom is famously known as ‘Jenny, enny, ren, yen,’ or ‘Icket.’ Mindy was famously ‘Stinker,’ ‘Michelangelo Alexander,’ ‘Mouse’ or ‘Mindy mouse...’ but I called her ‘Mousey.’
My cockatiel, Peatree, gets, ‘Tree-tritty-trit-bug,’ ‘Tritter,’ ‘Treeter,’ ‘Treeter pea,’ ‘Tritter pie,’ ‘Whip Bird’ and ‘Mr. Whippy’ or ‘Whip whip.’
But with the other animals, it’s not so much their names, but the way I talk to their character, that sets my ways in stone. My python Adam, I tell him how gorgeous he is, often ask very kindly, how he is, if he enjoyed his sleep and if I may move his water bowl, while he rears up at me. If he bites I say, ‘Ah well, okay then.’ I then throw my hands in the air and pretty much tell him I love him and check him, then leave. My other python, Phylis, (Which dad named after my nana...) I inform her of her beauty, her cuteness and I also ask if I may move her water bowl and if she approves of my scent.
Any other animals I have had, I usually just mimic, tell them how lovely they are and we sometimes share a joke or two. I have told the fish where another is hiding and sent the signal for the other to run. If an animal has hurt me or is in trouble I make sure they are okay, then tell them they have spirit or strength. Then I always thank them for the experience. Yes I might sound a little excessive, but they don't mind and they don't judge! Plus I bet I’m not the only one!
I love my animals so much and they constantly surprise me.
But all of my pets have usually listened to a beyond, affectionate, 'Hey You!'

A word on colour!
If you have read my other posts, you may have come to realise that I am an individual and I hate being like everyone else. This may be a little harsh, but I find that colour - at least the colours we see on products every day, (clothes, stationary, etc.) is defying this. I don't suppose that it is defying me personally, but the colours that department stores manufacture products in are always the same!
Of course, fashion lives off colour. Fashion decides 'What’s hot and what’s not' and at least where colour is concerned, this is the part of fashion I hate; in fact I really don't follow fashion at all. I decide what I like and stick to it, but this isn't a fashion blog.
Don't get me wrong, I love colour. I am thankful everyday for the colours of nature, the blue sky, brown bark, grey clouds, green, purple, red, yellow flora, and pink sunrise/sunset. I am grateful for hair colour, paint colour, eye colour, scale, fur and feather colour and clothing colour, (regardless of what I just said, I still believe colour has a place in the clothes we wear.) I even love the blacks, whites and greys of life in shadows, book pages, Cd's, wool, - colour is amazing in all of its different hues.
So I guess that I am saying that colour has its place, colour should be an individual choice and we shouldn’t use the same colours as everyone else in the little things that make us unique.
As another note my favourite colours are earthy tones like browns, light pinks and greens as well as blues, black and reds!
With colour brings texture. With texture brings sharpness. Take a photo in colour and black and white and if you just focus on the colours and shades, you'll appreciate it all so so much more!
Enjoy your shades!

The butterfly.
I don't know if I am religious, but I do believe in nature.
Should we fight nature for nature? I was flicking through the movies in our catalogue and of course I stopped at every animal related one. I was surprised to find two movies that were just that - fighting nature for nature. Let me explain this by describing each movie.
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441952/
and
Big Miracle.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1430615/
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is about introducing trout into the Yemen river - which naturally doesn't have trout in it... In order to allow people to fly fish for sport and food. Now I haven't seen this movie, so I can in no way judge it because it could be a great story, I just know how I feel about the realistic idea of introducing a non native animal into another, perhaps equally efficient habitat. Now, the movie description does say 'to prove the impossible, possible' so it really is not so much about the trout, but the act of doing something seemingly useless and for lack of a better word -impossible. I am not surprised by this concept at all because it seems that the story is, like others, unrelated to nature as a prospect, but related to people being recognised for beating nature for their own benefit. Yes, I am probably reading too much into this, and again I stress that I have no valid opinion without seeing this.
Plus I do really like the actors in this film, so it is possible that I will see it, but for now I remain a little opinionated about the storyline.
Big Miracle seems similar in that humans are helping nature from nature by helping a group of whales break out of isolated ice. It stars Drew Barrymore who is another actress I love, but the mention of Greenpeace and the fact that its based on a true story get me a little iffy. If it is based on a true story, it means it's been done or attempted - ouch and Greenpeace, well I am not a fan - I fine them too over the top. Too excessive, plus I hate protesting and this is all they seem to do...
Again, I would see this film if encouraged, but I'm not sure of the concepts....
If I was too blunt in this post, let me know...

But, but, but...
'But' is a bad word. It may as well be a swear word when it comes to taking the positive out of things. When I find myself saying or thinking about the 'buts' of life, I have to stop and think, No I am not being grateful enough if I have a backup 'but.'
When I was little I thought that there must be a catch to the three wishes a genie grants Aladin. Yes I knew that one could not bring someone back from the dead or wish for true love... but what if there was another catch?
I really like the idea, that wishing and wanting must have its limits. After all, we can't go through life just getting everything we want without a catch. We wouldn't learn anything that way. So I always wondered why making a wish didn't have more catches to it. I don't know how I came up with this, but I used to always think that to make an honest and grateful wish, we should be forbidden to say the words 'but' or 'and.' I doubt that this is absolute, but, we say these two words too much and I just think that we should be happy with what we have got, without adding something for nothing.

A word on bullying.
Don't get me wrong. I am in no way saying that bullying is right. But can we say that is is also very wrong when it is an act of nature?
Anyway, in our world, bullying is out of hand and something does need to be done. i think the point though, is to work together to prevent bullying, no blaming anyone else. Its not only bullying in this world that we need to work together on though.

Just a little busy, but checking in...
Here I am though and trust me, my lack of writing is not for lack of things to write about. I can't stand the aspect of writers block, because I don't know about everyone else, but I NEVER stop thinking! This is perhaps one of the few years in my life where I am flat out busy month to month with even more stuff on my mind!
The latest news in my biggest passion - animals! Is that I have been accepted to volunteer at RSPCA Victoria... (Again.) And as I participated in orientation, I remembered how much I had missed those beautiful faces smiling back at me.
I have just done my first shift at RSPCA and after trying to remember what to do, I absolutely loved it. Not that I have ever cared about the smell or the hard work before, but I just found time went so quickly because I was having fun!
If you don't know what the RSPCA does, it stands for the ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS. The goal is basically to protect all animal great and small from animal welfare issues. For a little smile, here is a link to their most famous advertisement:

A little hopeful enthusiasm.
My stories and nature, the things I can accomplish through nature are what keeps me going. If I didn't have a creative project to look forward to finishing, I would be very depressed. So when times get tough and I can't work life out. I sit down, forget everything, put on some music and type my heart out.
Sometimes emerging myself in another story just makes me realise how easy my own is. I recommend reading a good book, blog, facebook status or even writing something yourself to keep an open mind and view another aspect of life.

A little story about the sand pit at Clyden.
My little sandpit at home was from a simple design of a border of wood with a heap of sand dumped in the middle, hence 'the sandpit.' But as simple as it was, it was one of my joys as a child. I think I have always been very sentimental and the sand pit just proves this theory. One day I dug the deepest hole I could, (I even reached dirt, fascinated with the apparent concept that I may dig to China) that I assume now, wasn't so deep after all and I placed in it, a few treasures. These treasures were merely sea animal shaped plastic moulds in blue, red and yellow. But to me they were nothing less than treasure and I buried them, hoping they'd be there forever.
For plenty of years I would go back and dig up the pieces, making sure they were still there and when my parent's split up, these treasures became even more special. Digging the shapes up every second weekend I went to visit my dad becaome a ritual, knowing everything was okay.
I wonder if my parents knew what I was really doing when they would wave to me from the house...
One day when I happily went back to check up on my treasure, I sat down to dig happily, to find my gems.... gone.
I was shocked and upset, but I put it all down to the possibility that I had been looking in the wrong spot in the pit. I also noticed that the sand had shifted, the pit was mostly dirt. With dirt under my nails, I spent every spare moment digging everywhere for the treasures, until I was called away.
Weekend after weekend I went back to check every spare millimetre of the pit, but there was nothing. There were a few rough times envolving house ownership during this peiod, so I went to Clyden less and less frequently.
Now I know why civilisation is so abundant. In my sandpit I could get humungously creative building cities and cities until I couldn't any more. But when the centre of my city was gone, the world seemed to crumble down.
What treasure is holding our world together?

As promised!

The Smiling dog among the daises is my oldest friend, Jacko. unfortunately he passed away just before my 16th birthday. He was the same age as me, excellent lifetime for a jack russel. The guinea pig is Casper. The dogs playing are Abbie and Chloe, (the current ratbags. the rooster is Fowler... which Lordle () somehow pronounces as'Flowler!'The colourful critter with the blade of grass is Ellie the cheeky caique, (pronounced cake) and the little bird in the tree, that's willie, he's been there for generations!

Part of why I'll mis Clyden so much is because of the many animals I have grown up with there. A few of them are even buried there. It seems like a childhood memory, but even today I feel a connection to what I once had. (Even after the renovations.)Here are some pics of my friends who have grown with me at Clyden.
The first two photos are of the current residents, Angus in the first photo. Abbie is the tan and white and Chloe is the black and white in the second picture. Angus also re-appears in this pic!
You will have to bare with me on more photos, I'll get there!

Generation anxiety
If I were a teenager in the forties, I'd have something to fight for.
If I were in the fifties, I'd have dancing shoes.
In the sixties I'd have grease and racism to defend.
In the seventies I'd have flowers and peace.
In the eighties I'd have fluro and shoulder pads.
If I were a teenager in the nineties, I'd have had baggy pants and walkmans.
But I've been a teenager in the noughties (??) and I can't think of one thing we own...
Oh wait,
Heres to a generation of tech-heads, suicides and disrespect,
Not proud.
P.s "The noughties?" seriously? Why?

More of Clyden
My home, Clyden, I still get to see most days, even though I really live 20 minutes away. Being there makes me feel different now though. A few years back we did have some renovations, so now it doesn't feel wholly like home, but it still is in a way. In case you didn't get the hints. My parents are split up and I live with my mum. My dad has always lived at Clyden, So thats why I go there so often.
Because of the renovations - which were quite major- I don't think I'll miss the place too much, but that may change...

Clyden
For the next few posts I think I'll post about the house I grew up in. Clyden. It is a passion of mine after all! Especially since I have been told that it will be demolished after August this year. Its in my heart and I hope that you'll see how special something so simple can mean to someone.
So Clyden is very special to me and basically my dad is selling it due to outside sources and new housing estates and roads coming in. At the moment he doesn't have to sell the 2 acre property, but its on the books for the next few years. I just hope that he sells it privately and not to a developer who will slaughter it...
The cover picture of kkspassion is of dusk at Clyden.

The wonders nature brings
Its fantastic because in a world where nature is diminishing, its just a breath of fresh air to see three native animals who have really been there all along. It really makes me stop what I'm doing with my everyday fog and remember how much I truly do love nature and why I do write about it. Sometimes it takes a small encounter to really get the full picture and remember what you used to believe. And now I am back into that mindset, thanks to Mother Nature! I can't stop using the exclaimation marks because this is the most excitement I've had all year! I vow to write more and more now about nature and the wonders it beholds!!!!!!

Take the new year as you wish
But what I don't get is, why does everyone seem to start the year off in the same state of mind?
Home life is particulary difficult this time of year. I know that in my family, everyone like to come home and take their problems out on other family members in the comfort of their own home. There is just very little respect for each other and the best I can do is keep out of everyone's way...
There is also a lot of pressure for me to get a job, it's certainly not like I haven't been trying or want to get out there and earn money, but it simply isn't that easy...
On the positive side, I am determind to write, rescue and recover this year! I love this time of year because you can start over in a way. Its a chance for many of us to shake our heads and put a new positive twist on life. Although many of us don't take this chance...

What I'm passionate about right now!
So it's a fact that I'm passionate about life. The things that inspire me change constantly. I get a thousand ideas a day, then I've forgotten them all by lunchtime, but the ideas that have stuck with me have always been in my dreams.
I am passionate about the way I dream, about the stories in my head and the way I feel about everything. So I am really saying that I am passionate about my opinions.
The only problem is, that it takes a lot for me to talk about my opinions.... and I don't talk a lot to just anybody...

Rob Lowe's Autobiography.
Okay, so when asked, most people I know, didn't know who Rob Lowe is or if they did, it was a vague memory and most of the movies they thought he was in, he wasn't. But I have always known who he was, since that fateful day in English watching the outsiders, which we never finished, so I bought the movie and fell in love with Emilio Estevez, but I, as well as everyone else in class, certainly noticed Rob Lowe.
So I have been reading his Autobiography (and yes, he did actually write every single word himself) and I found myself in another world, a world I couldn't easily snap out of like I can with most other books I've read, (although another I couldn't ironically was 'The Outsiders.') There isn't much more I can say because really you have to just read the book!!

Anyway, the book is basically advice on style, (duh!) on Lauren's style, and boy does she know what she's talking about! Okay, so it is a little annoying having to translate the American in it and the websites that she suggests cannot be used for me anyway, but I have learnt a lot from her and i really think my clothing style has greatly proven for a change!

A word on the spotted python.
The spotted python is the biggest of the Children's python growing to 1.5 metres. I actually chose my python 'Adam' (and yes I am sticking with Adam, after a keeper friend of mine - see blog post 'RIP Adam Ruble') because as young, the spotted python can be somewhat aggressive and I really wanted to learn how to handle a python if I am going to keep one.
